Republican crybabies can’t fathom Obama’s success.

Terrific article on Associated Content regarding the republican’s current credibility gap:
I remember hearing from Sen. John McCain and every other Republican who could get a hold of a megaphone that Barack Obama would be soft on terrorism, and that he wasn’t prepared to lead the military. Yesterday, the President showed everyone how he leads: Decisively.
These people are the biggest bunch of crybabies I’ve ever seen. That’s supposed to be Democrat territory! I already know how this would be portrayed if Reagan had done it. The praise would be overwhelming. But it was the same when President Obama called for getting rid of all nukes. He was ridiculed for being naive (again) and dismissed as a liberal. Then I saw VIDEO of Ronald Reagan issuing the exact same call 25 years ago. See, that’s the real problem. It’s OK when they do it, not when others do it. They have a word for it: hypocrisy. Just how far is the far right going to go? At some point when people walk away from you in droves, you have to look at yourself. So good luck with that. It might show a little class to give credit to those who deserve it. You should try it sometime.
Neocons are always the same. Claiming strength when they act cowardly (take a look at all these pathetic morons at gun shows in the midwest. Little scared pantywaists afraid that the economy will collapse and the U.S. will become a free-for-all. They claim it’s about their right to protect themselves. I suggest it’s a bunch of little pussies afraid of their own shadows.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see Republican dead-enders being exposed for the shallow, callous hypocrites they are. Their lack of fairness, hatred toward the left and concrete thinking on nearly every subject is finally being viewed by the greater public as embarrassing, unnattractive and the mark of a crybaby. I know quite a few and not one of them will give Obama an inch - yet they continue to complain about the short shrift George W. Bush’s legacy has received (and still believe he will be redeemed).
I just don’t understand these people. I know there are many who enjoy being “led” in their thoughts and actions because they do not have the strength, character or courage to be individuals, but as someone who sees conformity as a weakness it’s like contemplating an alien from outer space.
Sorry I haven’t been on or posted a differing argument in a while. I just got married and have been honeymooning/trying to get back into the swing with work again.
OK, Obama has taken a definitive stance on Afghanistan and that after 5 days we will fuck some shit up if pirates take over an american flaged ship along with hostages. He has also asked Rosa Brooks to be advisor to the under secretary of defense in the pentagon. Who is Rosa Brooks? A former op ed writer for the LA Times that hates the military, policemen, and firemen (claiming that just by signing up you aren’t a hero).
As for hypocracy, why is this even a topic? I can show you hundreds of examples on both sides as to how dems and republicans have been hypocrital. It is the equivalent of kicking a dead horse, yet it is an inevitability because it always needs to be revisited.
I don’t understand how people wanting to buy guns qualifies as being a pussy though? Can it not be said that there are a bunch of liberals who have a lack of fairness, hatred toward the right and concrete thinking on nearly every subject? I believe you are an intelligent person, and this is your blog so what you say goes. I will just come on and point out the other side from time to time. No frustration or futility on my end, just the understanding that I am in the same boat as you concerning the country and its direction.
As for the republicans that are running the show right now, I dispise most of them indefinitely and all of them to some extent. Oh well, good to see you are still fighting the fight and giving me another way of looking at things. Have a great evening. I know I am, heading to my Atlanta Tea Party and Jimmy Buffett tomorrow.
Hi Jonathan,
Congratulations on your wedding! I’ve been a married man for 9 years now. I’m just happy my wife still tolerates me.
Now, as far as the gun issue (hunters and those living in bad neighborhoods notwithstanding), I do believe that Jimmy Bob living in East Bumblefuck, Oklahoma - in a town of 2,000 - is buying a gun because he is SCARED.
What amazed me during 9/11 was the fear emanating from those regions far from New York’s Battery district. Being a New Yorker - and having been in the city during 9/11 and many years after - I did not (and do not) have the fear these people seem to have. I remember one woman interviewed in Ohio who was certain that terrorists were intent on attacking the Piggly Wiggly.
That’s just plain unjustified fear. As for the men, most of them pump their chests out and try to express how tough they are and how merciless they’ll be if someone attacked them - but I think these people are just a bunch of pussies as well.
We’ve lived through 8 years of a government that thrived on manipulating scared, cowardly minds. These folks need to look at the world a little more realistically.
I have a friend in NC who has the same mindset. His problem is that he’s got too much free time on his hands and that’s giving him the luxury of engaging his paranoid side.
