A pathetic wind tunnel called Wizbangblog
Having nothing better to complain about than Obama’s intelligence, Wizbangblog has a pathetic post titled, “Journey to the Center of Obama’s Mind.” Their argument is that Obama is a control freak who cannot speak off the cuff and needs a teleprompter for everything.
Fine. See how far that one plays.
Like most of their posts, they get a slew of nasty remarks from the usual dead-enders, spewing their hatred over Obama and paying little attention to reality. While I generally see no good coming from commenting on these wind tunnels, I felt a duty to defend the man against the hubris of ignorance (and give a little dig to the other side - since we had to endure thread attacks from Hannity and Coulter wannabees for eight years). So, this was my post:
Meh. Say what you want. It makes no difference to the rest of us who live in a world unfettered by hatred for Obama.
The Bush administration was bankrupt of ideas and corrupt to the core. His disasterous policies have lead us to this economy.
Four years from now, when we’re clearly in the midst of good recovery and some good has been done in the world, dead-enders will still be squawking about how bad this President is.
The rest of us will be as we are now - embarrassed by your ignorance and hatred. Take a hike, fools.
Well, it didn’t take them long to comment. In fact, their “comment editor” didn’t comment at all. She simply scrambled my words so they were unreadable and followed it with this nice little remark.
“Take a hike yourself, tool.”
I posted a followup, saying “That’s a tasteful response. Very professional.” It was also pulled.
Now, here’s the difference between a pathetic neocon wind tunnel like Wizbang and most blogs, particularly liberal ones: Good or bad, we allow a free exchange of ideas and opinions. Sometimes they’re inflamatory, sometimes thoughtful. The important point is that there’s an honest, rarely manipulated dialog.
Wizbang (and other conservative blogs, especially since Obama’s innauguration), feels the need to “control” the conversation more these days than before. Since the neocons can no longer defend themselves against their pathetic excuse for reality - and are getting it from all sides (like we used to), they’ve made the most cowardly of choices - cut off the argument altogether. Like a bully, when the odds turn against them and they’re forced to go it alone, they run. Furthermore, like a neocon, they don’t just run away, they act as if the confrontation never happened at all.
