Michael Phelps is a good kid. Leave him alone.
“I’m 23 years old, and despite the successes I have had in the pool, I acted in a youthful and inappropriate way, not in a manner that people have come to expect from me,” Phelps said. “For this, I am sorry. I promise my fans and the public — it will not happen again.”
Okay. That should be the end of it as far as I’m concerned. Despite the fact that this kid has become a national icon, he is still human and a young man and will take a bong hit or two in his life. Eventually, like all of us with any sense, you stop behavior that proves unproductive.
Unfortunately, and I’m not certain whether this is driven by the media or not, this story will probably hang around for a few more days. Moreover, there will be some uptight dickhead out there who considers this action such a moral outrage he’s form an action committee to attempt to restrict more of our freedoms.
I completely agree with this! There are much more harmful and shameful things Mikey can be doing (like steroids– I’m staring at you Barry and Clemens). All I have to say is next time be more careful of when and where you decide to puff the magic dragon.
I knew this kid was way too mellow!!!
